About
OUR HISTORY
Our Angels were formed in Jan 2009 when a group of bereaved parents joined together to make a difference. We were primarily set up, and continue to run as a support group.
Losing a baby under any circumstance is one of the toughest things a family can face. Being able to meet together with other parents who have been through the loss of a baby and to talk about your child can undoubtedly help with the grieving process. It is a safe place where you will never be judged but will always be understood.
We welcome anyone affected by the loss of a baby at any stage of your bereavement.
Our Angels is also a registered charity. We raise funds to supply memory boxes for our local hospital.
We have invested heavily in bereavement training for the midwives in Harrogate, Bradford, and York. At Our Angels, we feel strongly that education is key, and helping our midwifery staff to access the best bereavement training they can. It is so very important and can make such a difference to each journey.
In march 2020 Our Angels donated £45,000 towards the refurbishment of the Ferndale suite. This money was not solely raised by Our Angels though, it was by people whose lives have been touched by baby loss. We have had so many amazing donations from people who have taken on incredible challenges to raise money for this project.
Thanks to everyone who has donated. We really couldn't have done this without you!
Our Angels have gone from strength to strength over the last 11 years and we are incredibly proud of all that we have achieved. We continue to support families on the journey of losing a baby and makes sure that nobody ever feels alone as they face this heartbreak.
