A New Partnership Blossomed
... as we planted our support seeds in Petals' caring garden
On the 17th of July 2023, we were delighted to launch Our Angel’s partnership with Petals, the baby loss counselling charity. Petals is a national charity that works with some of the largest hospital trusts, ensuring that bereaved parents are given access to counselling when they need it most.
Our Angels have always believed that counseling and support are at the very heart of helping parents who find themselves facing the loss of a baby.
Over the years, the need for group support has changed. We feel strongly that professional, targeted counselling is more important as ever.
We were introduced to petals by our wonderful bereavement midwife at Harrogate Hospital. After spending time hearing all about Petals and the amazing work they do, we knew we’d found our partners.
The counselling will come from Petals, and the funding will come from Our Angels. We have just donated our first £10,000 to kickstart the service, and we know it will make such a difference to so many.

In November 2021, we received delivery of a new SonicAid and mobile stand which got dropped off to the maternity ward later that day!
Thank you for all your donations which helps us, help the midwives give expectant mothers the very best care they can get.
Ferndale Suite Renovations
When the Ferndale Suite, lovingly became Our Bluebell Suite
In March 2020, Our Angels had the profound honor of presenting Harrogate District Hospital with a generous cheque totaling £45,000. This significant contribution is dedicated to the comprehensive refurbishment of the Ferndale Suite within the maternity ward – a project close to our hearts.
We’ve worked tirelessly to transform this space into a fully functional, medical facility, meticulously equipped to provide professional, comfortable, and compassionate care during the heart-wrenching experience of stillbirth. Years of careful planning, guided by insights from midwives and families who have walked this path before, have shaped the suite to meet every need and ensure practicality, peace and comfort in every detail.
The remarkable sum donated wasn’t solely the result of Our Angels’ efforts; it was a collective endeavour, fueled by families who embarked on extraordinary fundraising events in memory of their own precious babies. Their unwavering commitment to supporting others facing similar challenges is truly inspiring.
Although the COVID-19 crisis forced a temporary pause in our renovation efforts, rest assured that work will resume promptly and diligently once it’s safe to do so. Together, we remain steadfast in our mission to create a nurturing sanctuary where families can find solace and support during their darkest moments.
