In the aftermath of losing your baby, we understand that navigating practical matters can feel incredibly daunting. At Our Angels, we’ve created this section to offer guidance and support, aiming to ease some of the burdens you may encounter during this challenging time.
Post-Mortems:
The decision of whether to consent to a post-mortem examination is often overwhelming and deeply emotional. Our Angels are here to provide you with compassionate guidance and support as you navigate this difficult decision.Â
We’re available to assist you with any questions or concerns you may have, offering understanding and empathy every step of the way.

Funerals:
In Harrogate, the hospital has an arrangement with the local Co-Operative Funeral Care to organise funerals for stillborn babies. Through our own experience, we’ve witnessed the compassionate support provided by the Co-Op in guiding parents and families through this challenging time.Â
While the decision to hold a funeral is entirely yours, our bereavement midwife is here to support you, offering guidance and answering any questions you may have.Â
We’re also here to provide support and guidance should you need us.
Rights and Benefits:
Despite the immense grief you’re experiencing, it’s essential to be aware of practical aspects such as rights and benefits, including free prescriptions and maternity leave.
Our bereavement midwife can offer guidance on these matters, and we’re also available to provide additional support and advice.
Returning to Work:
Returning to work after the loss of your baby is a complex and deeply personal decision. Our Angels recognizes the practical, emotional, and financial considerations involved. Â There’s no one-size-fits-all answer, and it’s entirely normal to have fears and uncertainties about this transition. We’re here to support you in preparing for this significant step, providing whatever assistance we can.
Our aim is to facilitate discussions with parents preparing to return to work, ensuring employers understand how best to support individuals in their work environment.
Additionally, we offer a booklet of thoughts and reflections to provide comfort during this challenging time.
